Once confined to the most prosaic of communications (think manuals, exam books et al), wire bound printing is now considered to be quite the ‘in’ thing. Take a look at our L’Oréal case study, for example. Now that’s some endorsement for the humble wire!
We’ve been working hard to bring creativity and joie de vivre to something that is also very practical to use. Because sometimes you need something that is durable and beautiful; robust and creative; usable and unique.
Wiro binding is the process of punching a series of small holes down the binding edge of a set of pages, and then clamping a line of wire rings into the holes. Generally this takes the form of metal wire and has a double-wire for extra strength, but can also be just single wire or in plastic.
Wire bound brochures are perfect for manuals, price lists and catalogues where it’s essential for users to open and fold the book easily, as well as laying flat once opened. It’s also great for an ‘out-of-the-box’ binding style to complement a really creative look book or handbook; check out our case studies to see what we mean!
There are also other variants of wire bound printing, as you’ll see on our Half-Canadian page and our Calendar pages. For some wiro binding ideas though, here are some for starters:
